We believe that access to quality geographic information should be free and unrestricted. Maps are fundamental tools for education, navigation, and understanding our world. By providing comprehensive, accurate, and easy-to-use Ontario maps, we aim to support learning, facilitate travel, and promote geographic literacy across the province and beyond.
What We Offer
MapOfOntario.com is the most extensive collection of Ontario maps available online, completely free of charge. Our map library includes:
Comprehensive Map Coverage
Printable Ontario Maps: Our flagship collection features high-quality maps optimized for standard 8.5×11 inch paper. Each map is carefully designed to display clearly when printed at home or in the office, making them perfect for study materials, travel planning, or reference purposes. All printable maps are available as instant PDF downloads with no registration required.
City and Town Maps: We provide detailed maps for every major Ontario city, from Toronto and Ottawa to smaller communities across the province. These city maps show street layouts, neighborhoods, major landmarks, and municipal boundaries, making them ideal for navigation, real estate research, or general reference.
Highway and Road Maps: Our comprehensive highway maps display Ontario's complete road network, including all 400-series highways, provincial routes, and major regional roads. Whether you're planning a road trip along the 401, exploring northern routes, or mapping out logistics, our highway maps provide clear, accurate information.
Regional Maps: Ontario is a vast and diverse province. Our regional maps break down the province into manageable sections—Northern Ontario, Southern Ontario, Eastern Ontario, Western Ontario, and Central Ontario—each with its own detailed mapping showing the unique characteristics and geography of that region.
County and District Maps: For those who need administrative boundary information, we offer maps showing all 49 of Ontario's counties, districts, and regional municipalities. These maps are invaluable for understanding local government structures, planning services, or conducting research.
Educational Resources: Teachers and students particularly benefit from our blank outline maps, which are perfect for geography lessons, testing, and learning exercises. Students can practice labeling cities, rivers, lakes, and regions, building their understanding of Ontario's geography through hands-on activities.

How Our Content Is Produced
Pages on MapOfOntario.com are built around general, widely-available geographic and civic information about the province of Ontario — population centres, highway networks, regional and county boundaries, public parks, and well-known travel destinations. Pages combine an interactive map (powered by OpenStreetMap data and the open-source Leaflet library), a printable PDF route, and a written description.
Our editorial approach is to keep page content factual, neutral, and focused on reference value: what a visitor would reasonably want to know about a city, region, county, or highway. We avoid sponsored placements within page content, do not embed paid recommendations, and do not present opinions as verified facts. Where information may change (population estimates, road configurations, park rules), pages link out to authoritative sources where appropriate.
Pages are reviewed periodically and the "Last reviewed" date on each substantive page reflects the most recent editorial pass. If you find something inaccurate or out of date, please let us know.
Sources
Where pages cite specific facts — populations, road numbers, park classifications, county boundaries — the underlying data comes from public sources. Among the references we draw on:
- OpenStreetMap (openstreetmap.org) for base map tiles, road geometry, and place locations on interactive maps. OpenStreetMap data is contributed by volunteers under the Open Database License.
- Statistics Canada (statcan.gc.ca) for population and demographic figures. Figures shown on city and regional pages are rounded to widely-cited values; refer to the most recent census release for current numbers.
- Ontario Geographic Names Board and the Ministry of Natural Resources for the spelling and status of place names, lakes, parks, and watersheds.
- Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for highway numbering, route changes, and posted speed limits.
- Ontario Parks (ontarioparks.ca) for park classifications, operating seasons, and facility information.
- Natural Resources Canada for geological and physiographic information, including the extent of the Canadian Shield and the Great Lakes basin.
For anything time-sensitive — reservations, road closures, fees, opening hours — we link out to the relevant official source rather than republish details that may have changed.
