Brockville is one of Ontario's oldest European-settled towns, with notable 19th-century stone architecture and the landmark Brockville Railway Tunnel beneath downtown. It is a popular base for boating, diving, and Thousand Islands cruises.
Highway 401 runs north of the city, and the city is on the VIA Rail Toronto–Ottawa–Montreal corridor. The St. Lawrence River and a chain of small islands sit immediately south.
The downtown waterfront, the Court House Square heritage district, North Augusta Road, and the Aquatarium area are central to the city.
