About Chatham-Kent

Chatham-Kent is a primarily rural, agriculturally rich area between Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, and the Thames River. The city of Chatham serves as the main service centre. The municipality was a key terminus of the Underground Railroad in the 19th century.

Highway 401 cuts across the municipality, with Highway 40 running south to Lake Erie. Major waterways include the Thames River and Sydenham River.
