Gravenhurst is a charming town in Muskoka, Ontario, with a population of approximately 13,000 residents, known as the "Gateway to Muskoka." Located on Lake Muskoka, Gravenhurst is the first major town travelers encounter when heading north into Ontario's premier cottage country region. The town combines small-town charm with excellent amenities and access to beautiful lakes and wilderness.

Gravenhurst is famous as the birthplace of Norman Bethune, a Canadian humanitarian and physician honored for his medical innovations and service in China. The Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site preserves his legacy. The town's picturesque waterfront features the historic Muskoka Wharf, home to marinas, shops, restaurants, and the RMS Segwun, North America's oldest operating steamship. Gravenhurst offers year-round recreation including boating, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling, along with cultural attractions and events.

Highway 11 runs directly through Gravenhurst, serving as the main north-south route through Muskoka and connecting to Toronto (approximately 170 km south).
