Milton has been one of Canada's faster-growing communities for over a decade, with new neighbourhoods built south and east of its historic downtown. The town includes major escarpment conservation lands such as Rattlesnake Point, Crawford Lake, and Mount Nemo.
Highway 401, Highway 407, and Highway 25 cross the town. The Milton GO line provides commuter rail service to Toronto.
Old Milton (the heritage downtown around Main Street), the Mountain View area, Beaty, Bristol, Coates, Willmott, Scott, and the rural Campbellville hamlet make up the town.
