Mississauga is a major commercial centre with a dense corporate presence along the Highway 401, 403, and Queen Elizabeth Way corridors. Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada's busiest airport, sits within the city. The downtown around Square One and the City Centre area has been developing as a higher-density urban core.

Geography & Major Routes

The city is bounded by Lake Ontario to the south, the Etobicoke Creek to the east (the Toronto boundary), the Credit River cutting through the centre, and Brampton/Halton boundaries on the north and west.

Mississauga is composed of historical communities including Port Credit, Streetsville, Cooksville, Clarkson, Erin Mills, Meadowvale, Malton, and Lakeview. City Centre serves as the de facto downtown, while Port Credit and Streetsville retain village-scale main streets.
