Niagara Falls is one of Canada's most-visited tourism destinations. The city extends along a steep escarpment beside the Niagara River and includes the Horseshoe Falls, the Rainbow Bridge to the United States, the Niagara Parkway, and a dense entertainment district along Clifton Hill and Fallsview Boulevard.
The Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) and Highway 420 connect the city to the rest of the Niagara Region and the GTA. The Niagara Parkway follows the river from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.
The Falls and Tourist Districts, Clifton Hill, Fallsview, the historic downtown along Queen Street, Stamford, Chippawa to the south, and the residential areas along Lundy's Lane are the main parts of the city.
Niagara Falls is part of Niagara Region / Southern Ontario, with a population of approximately 90,000. For broader context, see the Southern Ontario regional map and the Ontario map with cities.
