Quinte West is best known for CFB Trenton, the largest Royal Canadian Air Force base, and as the southern terminus of the Trent–Severn Waterway, where it joins Lake Ontario at the Bay of Quinte.
Highway 401 runs through the city. The Trent River flows through Trenton into the Bay of Quinte.
Trenton (the main urban centre and home to the air base), Frankford (north along the Trent River), and the rural communities of Sidney and Murray townships make up the city.
