About Sarnia

Sarnia is a major petrochemical centre, anchoring the cluster of refineries and chemical plants south of the city often called Chemical Valley. The city has a long Lake Huron beachfront and the Blue Water Bridge to the United States.

Geography & Major Routes

Highway 402 ends at the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia, connecting to Interstate 94 in Michigan. Highway 40 heads south along the St. Clair River toward Wallaceburg.

Downtown Sarnia around Christina and Davis Streets, Point Edward at the foot of the bridge, Bright's Grove on the Lake Huron shore, the Mitton Village heritage district, and the Chemical Valley industrial corridor define the city.
