About Stratford
Stratford is a city in Southwestern Ontario known worldwide for the Stratford Festival, one of North America's premier classical theatre festivals. With a population of approximately 33,000 residents, Stratford combines small-city charm with world-class cultural offerings. The city's picturesque downtown, parks along the Avon River, and Victorian architecture make it a popular destination for theatre-goers and tourists.
The Stratford Festival, founded in 1953, presents Shakespearean plays and contemporary theatre in multiple venues from April through October, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
