About Collingwood
Collingwood is a picturesque town in Central Ontario located on the southern shore of Georgian Bay at the base of the Niagara Escarpment, with a population of approximately 24,000 residents. Known as a premier four-season resort destination, Collingwood is home to Blue Mountain Resort, Ontario's largest ski resort, and offers year-round recreational activities including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and water sports on Georgian Bay.
The town features a charming historic downtown with shops, restaurants, and galleries, along with a scenic waterfront harbour. Collingwood's shipbuilding heritage is preserved at the Collingwood Museum, which showcases the town's history as a major Great Lakes shipbuilding center. The Georgian Trail, a 34-kilometer recreational trail, connects Collingwood to Meaford along the scenic Georgian Bay coastline. The town has grown significantly as a tourist destination and residential community, attracting visitors and new residents seeking outdoor recreation and small-town charm.
Highway 26 runs east-west through Collingwood, connecting to Barrie (approximately 50 km southeast) and Owen Sound (60 km northwest).
