Located directly north of Toronto, Vaughan is bordered by Brampton to the west and Richmond Hill to the east. The city has experienced tremendous growth over the past few decades, evolving from a collection of small communities into a major urban center. The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is emerging as a major downtown core with high-rise development, office space, and the terminus of the Toronto subway system. Vaughan is home to Canada's Wonderland, one of the country's premier amusement parks, and Vaughan Mills, a major shopping destination. The McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg showcases Canadian art including works by the Group of Seven.
